Ask your employer for the details in writing
Send this to HR or your manager in your first days after the layoff. It asks for your final pay date, unused paid time off, severance terms and the date your benefits end, so you have them in writing.
Federal Student Aid says that if you were recently laid off, you can ask your servicer to recalculate your payment, which may lower it. Leave your Social Security number out of email. Source: Federal Student Aid.
